Junior Accountant (temporary) for TotalEnergies Marketing Denmark A/S

We are currently looking for a Junior Accountant to join a small and dynamic finance team for TotalEnergies, based in Copenhagen. The team consists of two colleagues and is now looking for a third team member who can support the daily accounting activities and help manage the increasing workload in a fast-paced international environment.
You will report directly to the Accounting Manager and work closely with colleagues in the company’s Shared Service Center in Bucharest, which supports several accounting processes.
This is a great opportunity for someone early in their accounting career who wants to gain broad experience within finance in an international organization.
About the role
As a Junior Accountant, you will support day-to-day accounting activities across several Nordic entities. The role covers a broad range of accounting tasks, from vendor and customer accounting to reconciliations and payment processing.
You will collaborate closely with both the local finance team and the Shared Service Center, which prepares weekly payment proposals that the Copenhagen team reviews and executes.
Tasks and responsibilities may vary depending on business needs, and you will also receive ad hoc assignments from management and the CFO.
Key responsibilities

Daily accounting tasks including debit and credit postings

Processing and monitoring vendor and customer transactions

Preparing and reviewing weekly payments

Supporting customer statements and receivables

Account reconciliations

Working with multiple currencies and banks

Preparing and maintaining reports in Excel

Collaborating closely with the Shared Service Center in Bucharest

Handling ad hoc accounting tasks from management and the CFO
About you
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented person who thrives in a busy environment and is comfortable taking initiative.
You likely have some experience within accounting and a solid understanding of basic accounting principles such as debit and credit.
We imagine that you:

Have experience with accounting tasks or bookkeeping
- Are comfortable working with debits and credits

Have good Excel skills, including working with PivotTables
- Ideally have experience with SAP or another accounting system

Are comfortable working with different currencies and banks

Communicate confidently in English

Speak a Scandinavian language (Danish, Swedish or Norwegian) – this is a strong advantage

Are proactive and able to communicate with stakeholders at different levels
Practical information
Location: Amerika Plads, Nordhavn (Copenhagen)
Working hours: Full time
Work model: Office-based with the possibility to work 2 days from home per week once fully onboarded
Fixed office day: Tuesday
Public transport: Close to Nordhavn and Østerport station (approx. 10 minutes walking distance)
